Gardening Dogs

Yes, I have two gardening dogs. They help me a great deal in the yard. They move plants for me, they sift dirt for me and the fertilize the grass. Such a great help...NOT!

I love my dogs a great deal; however, I could go through life just fine without the their help in the garden. Maggie has destroyed most of my pretty pansies and dug 8 inch holes in a few places. I found my caladium bulbs completely out of the ground and being used as balls, being tossed around all over the yard. Oh, and one of the square pots that I had full of pansies is now being used as a soft bed of dirt for Maggie. She curls up in the planter and gets real comfy and takes a nap.

What is a pet owner to do?

I spent much of the Mardi Gras holiday trying to put my pretty landscaping back together. I replanted a few pansies, threw away my poor caladium bulbs and emptied and moved the planter, a.k.a.dirt bed. The dogs looked quite confused. Now what will they do to occupy their time?

Well, at least the yard looks nice for the time being. I am sure Maggie and Jada will come up with something to do just as interesting as being doggie gardeners.

Doggie gardening is great!!! We love to help our mom. Sometimes whe doesn't get things planted right, so we dig it up, to let her know it was wrong.

I like to dig. I don't understand why humans refill my freshly dug holes, though.
